Balanced Pellet
Prior to bringing your bunny home you're going to want to start your research into a well balanced feed for your new companion. We personally feed Bar-Ale and our rabbits seem to thrive on it. Bar-Ale is suitable for all ages of rabbit. We get ours at our local concord feed in Pleasant Hill.
Treats
Shredded wheat can make an excellent treat if fed sparingly. Most bunnies have a liking to them and they can even help keep teeth trimmed.
Treats
Bunnies from under six months have a hard time digesting fruits and vegetables so as a substitute I always recommend oats. Oats can be used during bonding to build confidence and comfortability with you!
Hay
A grass hay is a vital part of your rabbits diet. It keeps their gut moving and teeth trimmed. It's also great mental stimulation for your bunny. Theres a variety of hay to choose from however here at the rabbitry we feed orchard grass and our young bunnies will also get alfalfa cubes (compressed alfalfa hay).
Grooming
Our main grooming tool for our lionheads is the slicker brush. Slicker brushes are fantastic at getting debris and tangles out of their wool without pulling out too much coat. This is a must have for your grooming kit!
Grooming
A fine toothed comb or flea comb is great for getting those hard to reach debris or stuck on poops around the bum of your rabbit.
Grooming
Nail clippers specifically designed for cats have been our favorite for our rabbits. Makes nail trims quick and painless!
